New semester is coming super soon, and i feel like wanna share about my last semester's project. So here we go.
It was Architecture Design Studio 3, where in this course we started to learn designing some buildings takes place in an existed site.
The first project was a restaurant in an urban area. To be exact it's located at Jalan Kaliurang near our college. The site is quite small compared to request to maximize the restaurant capacity until 60 people. Other problems we found on this site include neighborhood circulation, circulation for vehicles (located near intersection and no space for parking), noise, and light (the facade heading to the west side). Quite complicated for first project, but i enjoyed the design process so much!
As a commercial building, my design came up with an idea of being different. Since the surroundings are full of messy traffic, concretes, and hectic life, the restaurant was designed as a place to relax. In short, my concept was From Chaos to Harmony. Oh and i made it Banjar Foods Restaurant...no particular reason...ummm, i think because i want simple-served foods so the kitchen design going simpler too, and maybe that time i craved for that delicious soto Banjar at Kindai (it's a dining place in Jogja). :p
It's midnight already and tomorrow's gonna be the first day of my second semester on my second year. Yeay. Yeay, i mean it. Yeay. Tomorrow's schedule is Architecture Design Studio 4, start at 7 a.m., and most likely we will have picking-supervisor-lecturer-for-the-rest-semester combat.
Yah, to be honest i'm a little bit anxious that tomorrow i will be able to wake up or not since this holiday my sleeping circle wasn't going very well... I wish it's everyone's. :p

I named it Ruhui, means Harmony. A cliche, i know...

Structure detail! Haha i love this part because when i explained to my lecture i said it with confidence, "I have the sample in Eko Prawoto's design, Sir." Tho i never am sure that this kinda structure is possible for this much building loads.
Finally, my baby model. I was never as proud as that time i finished this one. I overslept and made it only for 6 hours! I'm a proud mama.
The next and last project was going more complicated. My supervisor went to Japan and our team got to be separated. Adjustments and another adjustment and some other personal life problem (halah), made me less excited about this one. It was a homestay design took place in Kulon Progo with geographical problem. Slopy and full of trees and super big area and an existed Joglo functioned as pendopo which is super big too.
The client's background made me think that modern house would suit their philosophy best. I wanted to make the modern form of the building blend with natural and traditional area there and my concept was to create it as background for the existed condition. (Sad that in my presentation the lecturer said it didn't work)
We've got 2 chances for presentation, the first wass pre-design drawing, and the second was...more detailed pre-design drawing, i don't know why was that.
And by the way sorry for the not-so-good pictures. It was presented on A2 so it was rather difficult to capture the whole paper, i took some parts only.

I am not satisfied enough with these designs, and my drawing skills are also not improved much. Then the next semester we'll have digital presentation for our designs. And i'm both glad and sad. No, i'd rather cry in the corner.
